Introducting Federico Lo Giudice

I am Federico Lo Giudice, originally from Rome (IT) where I earned my nursing degree in 2016. After completing my studies, I relocated to Ireland, where I began my career in healthcare.

I started working as a staff nurse at one of Dublin’s busiest private hospitals, where I gained invaluable experience. Over the years, I advanced in my role, progressing to clinical nurse manager on the urology ward, overseeing a dedicated team and managing complex patient care.

Seeking further professional development, I moved to the Mater Public Hospital, where I took on the position of candidate advanced nurse practitioner. This role allowed me to expand my clinical expertise while simultaneously pursuing the necessary academic qualifications to support my career progression. I am currently on track to become a nurse prescriber, a goal that reflects my commitment to continuous learning and improving patient outcomes.

I was drawn to the opportunity to join the EAUN board because of the invaluable access it provides to cutting-edge research and knowledge shared by nursing experts in various urology fields worldwide. I’m particularly passionate about contributing to innovations and research that could significantly improve the quality of life for patients suffering from urological condition, especially if benign.

By becoming a board member, I aim to leverage my expertise in lower urinary tract symptoms to benefit patients not only in my local community but also across borders. I believe that in a diverse forum like the EAUN board, I can bring unique insights and perspectives that will enrich discussions and decision-making processes. I am inspired by the collaborative spirit and the wealth of treatment options discussed for challenging cases. As a candidate nurse practitioner, I perceive value in sharing the benefits of my patient-centred approach and advocating for the role of nurse practitioners in healthcare systems where it may not yet be established.

In summary, I have a strong desire to contribute to advancements in urology nursing practice and improve patient outcomes on a global scale. My dedication to ongoing learning, my commitment to patient-centred care, and my enthusiasm for knowledge sharing make me confident in my ability to make meaningful contributions as a board member.

I hope to see you at the AGM in Madrid where the EAUN members will be asked to approve my candidacy by the EAUN Board.
