EAUN edition - No place to go: Homelessness & Incontinence
This EAUN edition presents the episode “No Place to Go: Homelessness & Incontinence.” Eva Wallace, Clinical Nurse Advisor and Chair of the EAUN Special Interest Group (SIG) Continence, is joined by Anne Marie Kelly, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Continence with the Health Service Executive (HSE) in the Dublin area, for an important conversation on the often-overlooked connection between homelessness and incontinence.
Without reliable access to toilets, hygiene facilities, clean clothing or continence products, a manageable condition can become a daily struggle, affecting dignity, health and social inclusion. The discussion explores the practical challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness and highlights how incontinence can further complicate an already vulnerable situation.
By bringing this hidden issue into the open, the episode considers how compassionate, practical continence care can make a meaningful difference for people without a place to call home.
